The Journal of Eritrean Studies(JES) was published twice a year, with one edition published in the summer, and the other in the winter. It's editorial board included Bereket Habte Selassie, distinguish law professor and author(including the novel, "Riding the Whirlwind", which appears on this site), and chair of the constitutional commission which drafted the Eritrean constitution in 1997. Another member of the editorial board is Kassahun Checole, publisher and president of Africa World Press and Red Sea Press, two very influential and central presses in Eritrean literature.
