This is the autobiography of Tiberih Tesfahuney, an Eritrean singer. It is belongs to a growing genre of autobiographies written by Eritreans in the diaspora. A common theme in this new genre is the return to Eritrea, and the struggle to reestablish their former lives and connections. Tiberih Tesfauney has lived a very dramatic life. She quit school at an early age to pursue a singing career with the Asmara Theatre Company, and quickly became one of Eritrean's most well-known performers. She also became an entrepeneur who owned 8 discos in Eritrea and Ethiopia. She immigrated to Sweden, where she worked for three years before returning to Eritrea to join the liberation army. As a soldier she suffered a brain injury.
