This is an historical work which documents the activities of the Eritrean commandos of the liberation struggle -- the specially trained Eritrean soldiers who distinguished themselves throughout the decades of armed struggle. The book includes a large fold out map which illustrates the 1984 commando raid of the Ethiopian held Asmara airport . This raid was considered to be a great success for the liberation movement, and on of the milestones of the war. It has also been documented in Thomas Kenneally's fiction novel, "Towards Asmara".
